- Well we got to say it. We are locksmiths after all. It pays to have good locks (installed correctly). Good quality locks will not only help protect you from unwanted entry it will very often deter an intruder from even attempting entry.
- Ok, this one has nothing to do with equipment as such. One of the simplest and cheapest ways to help improve security around your home is to support your local Neigbourhood Watch program. Get to know your neighbours and keep an eye out for unusual activity in your neighbourhood.
- Keep a track of your keys. Many robberies and unwanted entries happen not because someone 'breaks in' but because a previous owner, resident or employee still has the keys. This can be especially relevant for business where employees come and go. You might want to check your insurance policy too. You may not be covered if you have not taken measures to ensure your locks are updated.
